This book is the first edition signed copy by Rudyard Kipling. This is one of five hundred large paper copies printed in 1926.It is in a fine condition with minor marking on the leather board and spine, scattered spots on the front and the back pages. The edges are untrimmed and illustrated by Donald Maxwell.

The work is a collection of verses from some of Rudyard Kipling’s most popular poems. With verses from the poems ‘Puck’s Song’, ‘The Long Trail’, ‘The Bell Buoy’, ‘The Run of the Downs’, ‘Song of the English’, ‘Mine Sweepers’ and more, with information about with collection each poem was originally published in.

Kipling is best known for his novel ‘The Jungle Book’, however he was a prolific writer of poems, novels, and short stories. Being born in India inspired much of his work, and he went on to become one of the most popular writers of his time. With twenty-four colored plates. Illustrated by Donald Maxwell. Maxwell was known for his topographical paintings, illustrating for ‘The Yachting Monthly’ and various other periodicals like ‘Daily Graphic’ and ‘The Graphic’. He also published a number of books about voyages.
